It wasn't my intent to debate the PKI question either, my comment was just
offhand. Suffice to say, if you think PKI works, it's one of the things a
lot of ECP (and its alternative) back-ends will probably support easily
enough, and people are more than welcome to build it into clients in
expectation of that.
