Is -m64 is the proper flag for Sun's compiler?

Your trace shows that each libtool command with --mode=compile is followed
by the usual CC command, but that your command with --mode=link simply
does nothing. That's the cause, but that's about all I can tell you.

I suspect perhaps the -m64 thing is the problem in the sense that I don't
use it. I have built it natively, meaning that if the native arch is
64-bit, it builds that way, and not otherwise.
