I don't know anything about the implementation.

For the use cases you have in mind, yes, that's probably true. There
is another use case emerging, called the "high-value SP," and AFAICT
the LocalDynamicMetadataProvider type is of no use in that case.

Hmm, if that's true, I don't know about it. It is certainly not documented.
