For completeness since this was talked to death

I happened to be in the code for another reason and I see that we are indeed doing the uninstall, so you behvaior comes as a
"Windows is Odd"....

If this happens repeatably, I'd be interested in the logfile from  

	msiexec /x <misname> /lv* LOGFILE

(/x means uninstall)

Mail it to me direct (it will be big) and do NOT mail me a log from a production/sensitive machine.  Whilst I do not believe that
there is any confidential information in the log file but I am not prepared to take the risk and neither should you.
