Getting started writing auth plugin

Hello,


I am tasked with integrating Shibboleth IDP with an existing custom, 
hybrid, authentication system we use.  I am looking for where I need to 
start in terms of what classes I would need to extend for authn and 
attribute resolution. I have a test box setup that is working again a 
LDAP server, so now I am looking to take the next steps to fully 
integrate it with out auth system. I am assuming I will also need to 
setup my own flows as well.  I am going to be using username/password 
based auth, so I am assuming I can recycle the existing views (that I am 
currently using with LDAP auth).  Are the any good samples in the wild 
where I could view the src code?
