MacPorts Shibboleth SP 2.5.5 defunct?

I did a complete deinstallation of MacPorts as described on
https://guide.macports.org/chunked/installing.macports.uninstalling.html.
Then I reinstalled the OS X 10.9 Mavericks package of Mac Ports. Then
ran "sudo port install shibboleth". Installation went fine. But I still
get "shibd -t" -> Segmentation fault: 11. Restart of Mac didn't help either.

I suspect that this is therefore a 10.9/MacPorts-related problem.
