I'm sure, and they're totally up front about it, I'm just noting that it's pretty critical to take it into account. Back when Linux behaved like that, it wasn't production-worthy either.

Unfortunately that's borderline impossible with C++ APIs that make use of templates and STL constructs in the ABI of the constituent libraries.
