Alpha2 Metadata Error on Start

Weird, that means we're not seeing it or the tests would fail.

Or there's something going on related to the loading of the example
metadata perhaps. I haven't run it out of the file system in a while, but
I'm not sure what to suggest.

As a short term thing, I guess I'd suggest actually pointing it to your
relying-party file for metadata in services.xml. That seems like to fail
worse, but maybe it will work around a bug.
