Yes, I've been guilty of the same neglect of those two, and the same thing has happened... they have drifted very far from the rest of the code and no longer compile. I have made a start on them, though, and a combination of tweaking things that have changed and ripping out things that have been reimplemented somewhere higher up the hierarchy should fix them fairly quickly. I'll let people know when I have done that.
Its clear that the only real way to handle this kind of thing is not to disable modules but stub them out or whatever is required to make them minimally visible so that refactorings (which we do a fair number of) won't make things worse.
