OK noted.. just a user so mostly leave that stuff to those who know
best (not me).

Yep, that has always worked here as well for the idp and related projects. 
So perhaps nothing is really need just a quick "here is how you deal with 
this project if you'd rather use git to follow us" paragraph (if anything 
at all).
