mixing shorthand and long form syntax in SP configuration

Hello,
I came across an SP 2.5.2 configuration file that mixed the
<SSO></SSO> shorthand notation with "advanced" configuration options
for <SessionInitiator> and <AssertionConsumerService> elements (one
option from each of those). The configuration did not throw any syntax
errors (shibd -t -c) but it also did not work (it appears the advanced
options were ignored).
Do you want to collect details like that for possible future
enhancements or is the mixing of the shorthand and the more standard
syntax such a corner case that it is not worth addressing at this
time?
Thanks,
Scott K
