Adding Subversion revision numbers to Maven artifacts ?

Looks mostly harmless to me, I'd say give it a try.

The only thing I'd be slightly concerned about (for more formal releases, not your current use case) is whether it Does The Right Thing on a product release built from a tag which was created from the workspace and not as a copy of HEAD. I have no reason to believe it won't, and the worst thing it might do is be off by one, but it might be worth looking out for that the first time round.
