I actually was not. That seems problematic if it doesn't require versions
to be numbers.

I sort of think so, because I was going to suggest for other reasons we
(meaning you) start looking in earnest at an installer. I wanted to get to
a place where the config was in idp-conf and not duplicated in the testbed
project.

As far as the Jetty situation, one thing I did want to say about that was
that in practice, I don't know how bad the setuid problem really is. There
are not that many platforms to support formally, and the ones that do have
a setuid binary that is essentially pretty fixed. I've been using the
Linux one for a long time and have copied it around pretty freely, it's
just not that changeable.

A simple "select your platform" option could copy the right binary into
place and it would just work.

Windows I haven't looked at, but that tends to be tractable since it's a
fixed platform with its own installer.
