Deeply appreciate your quick response. May I ask you a few basic questions?

1. As 'googled quickly, seems like there is a religious war/debate between various flavors OpID, Oauth, SAML etc..
Appreciate if you or anyone one on the list, can give me a quick pointer where 'can educate myself 

2. Is there an OpenID connect java/jsp/servlet libraries or sample implementation?

Use OpenID Connect for your IDP, not SAML...
