I guess the challenge to me is the transition. I don’t think we really want to retrofit all of the Scoped plugins with some kind of old/new flag, so it doesn’t seem to really work to deprecate the old class. If we do this we probably just need to move it apart and break the inheritance, and leave it at that (while updating all the various touchpoints).
