I opened a bug around this actually tonight because there are problems with the way the ConnectionFactoryValidator class is dealing with init handling, I think it’s in this general area because the LDAP connector actuially injects the fail fast setting into the validator.

My thought for V5 was maybe to switch the Validator interface so the flag gets passed into the method rather than a setting on the object.
