We could rototill the ValidateResponseType code to get way more tricky, but it may be simpler and more robust to just define a separator to use within the XML to group values, and then parse things out more intelligently in the MetadataNodeProcessor. Unfortunately that means we’d have to fix it in commons, so we can move the issue there if that’s the plan.
