I shared it here just to confirm that setting -Dlogback.configurationFile and pointing to a configuration file stops the excessive logging.

However, pointing directly to conf/logback.xml from the IdP directory did not work, as it depends on properties that are not defined outside the application.... so I used a minimal stub file from the Tomcat side just to confirm it stops the excessive logging.

But I so far don’t know what a proper fix would be - I may wait to see the solution here, and then (if possible) apply it as a workaround until 4.2.2 is out.
