the V3.0.0 version of attribute-release.vm used the function:

#foreach ($attribute in $attributeReleaseContext.getConsentableAttributes().values())
   <tr>
       <td>$encoder.encodeForHTML($attributeDisplayNameFunction.apply($attribute))</td>

But I would agree that this does need release note in case any one was fool hardy enough to do the whole Localization thing themselves.
