I had written off the Dynamic sources as impractical. I was thinking anything “static” or, at least, deterministic on reload, could be in scope? Ie. FilesystemMetadataProvider or FileBackedHTTPMetadataProvider.

I wasn’t trying to suggest automatic handling of such errors but some hint that it’s happened (and thus the unintended metadata may be being used) would be a benefit.
