Which is to say, the way Maven handles this, just overriding the property in a POM doesn’t change the “effective” version of the managed dependency that’s declared in our parent POM when the dependency gets used in my experience. You have to actually set <version/> again to redeclare the property-based version where we actually declare the real dependency.
