I guess that argues for using the filter in an additive way, to attach something to the feed for the DS, or just doing a more general thing and exposing entity attributes within the feed.

XPath probably isn't an option given the lack of implementations.

But it seems like the best way to handle testing such IdPs is with SP-based triggers (passing the IdP to use directly to the SP). Is it really necessary to be able to choose them via a DS?
