Shibboleth IdP Jetty plugin now available

The Shibboleth Project has released the first version of the new Jetty plugin for testing/evaluation. This plugin facilitates downloading and managing Jetty releases and provides a curated default container configuration for (initially) Jetty 12.1 or 12.0 along with scripts to manage the system and deploy as a service.

The version of this plugin is 1.0.0 and new releases will only occur to correct configuration errors, add configuration support for newer Jetty versions, or add features. Actual Jetty upgrades are handled by the scripts provided and do not require new releases of the plugin.

This is our first stab at a cross-platform aid to automating and managing the Java container and in the long term will be replacing all Windows-specific installation tools we have provided in the past.

The documentation page is here [1] and it installs like any other IdP plugin, though it's a bit unusual in that it doesn't actually add any components to the IdP runtime itself.
