Thank you Peter and Scot for your answers, they were very helpful!. I stopped trying to use the back-channel and trying to see if the IDP is really releasing any attributes or not. I check the log files, there is no indication of whether it is sending attributes or not. My clue for thinking it was sending attributes is that i got the consent flow asking me if i accept releasing the attribute to the SP. so i guessed it was working fine and releasing attributes! I am using the latest version of both IDP and SP.
My IDP log file is attached to this message.

Thanks again for your great help!

Kindest Regards,

Yasser

On 22 January 2016 at 17:32, <users-request@shibboleth.net> wrote:

Send users mailing list submissions to
If the IDP released attributes to the SP at all, it would send them
together during SSO. I thought I had replied with that already, maybe
I wasn't clear.
The IDP won't release attributes over SOAP to an SP when it doesn't
release attributes to that same SP during SSO (unless you explicitly
"break" the IDP to make everyone's lifes more "interesting").
I think one source of the communication issue is that you're only (?)
reading the digest (i.e., collection) of mailing lis posts, not
recieving them as they are posted.
I.e., you fire off questions, we try to answer them, only to see yet
more questions from you that we already commented on before.

So I would suggest limiting yourself to 1 question per digest (where
the replies should be) /or/ change your mailman subscription back to
the default of recieving everything immediately.
As long as we're having a spate of "have you integrated with..." questions, I'll throw mine in.

As far as I can tell, IBM Filenet supports SSO by having you intercept authentication at the JAAS-layer. It also appears that the only supported way to do this is to install the IBM Tivoli AM stack, which may have a custom plugin to do the intercept for Filenet and hook it up with the SAML layer components.

Has anyone successfully SP-ized IFM Filenet without purchasing and installing the TIM/TAM stack to do it? If so, any pointers or docs?

Thanks,

Did you create an attribute release policy for the attributes you want to release to the SP on your IdP? In your original post, you had a data connector definition and attribute definition for your IdP and an attribute map definition for your SP. You'll need a release policy of some sort to allow the attribute to be released to the SP.

I will say that looking at the items Peter has recommended to you already should tell you more of what needs to be done...
Make sense, Scott. I believe the IdP I am using supports all standing
procedures. So, I am jumping into real lab work with that SP who asked for
deep linking facility. Let's see where we go....
Thanks for your guidance, appreciated!
