<div>Hi there, </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Been trying to get shibboleth SP running on a RHEL 6.6 system but so far no luck. </div>
<div>Installation went well, although after investigation we found that libmemcached-0.31 was not installed. </div>
<div>After fixing that, still no luck. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>What happens is the following:</div>
<div>Using the default /etc/init.d script the error message is that starting up shibd is failed. </div>
<div>Doing things manually doesn’t work either. Using shibd –t creates a segfault (core dumped) directly. </div>
<div> </div>
<div><font face="MS Shell Dlg 2" size="2"><span style="font-size:10pt;">shibd[20018]: segfault at 3200000001 ip 00007f3b016929ff sp 00007fffd4ee9020 error 4 in libxerces-c-3.1.so[7f3b0139a000+3d3000]</span></font></div>
<div> </div>
<div>Above line appears in syslog. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>After comparing installation between the RHEL 6.6 installation (faulty) and a CentOS 6.6 (working) installation we noticed that the libssh2 is missing from the list of dynamically loaded libs (ldd /usr/sbin/shibd) but that hardly explains why shibd segfaults
on libxerces, correct me if I’m wrong. </div>
<div>What was also noted, was that shibboleth version on RHEL is 2.5.4-3.3 instead of 2.5.4-3.4 on CentOS. Changelogs, however, do not mention anything about bugfixed concerning libxerces or libssh2. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>I really need help here… Tried using GDB but that only gave me the following:</div>
<div> </div>
<div><font face="MS Shell Dlg 2" size="2"><span style="font-size:10pt;">[root@nlnehvdcs3vu236 shibboleth]# gdb /usr/sbin/shibd<br>
