While adding the drop down to the form was easy, I am not sure how or if I can pass this value to the application.<br></blockquote><br></div>There's probably a variety of approaches, but you could save the user setting somewhere that the IDP could look it up (e.g. LDAP, a DB, etc.). Then when they go back to the login page in the future you can pull their saved value from your data source.
