</div>I don't see anything in that reference that mentions givenName being<br>
supported, so I think you're sort of assuming facts not in evidence based<br>
on what you'd expect/hope, but they may not live up to that.<br>

That's what I meant by starting with the SP. Unless you know what they<br>
support, specifically, it's like guessing on your side, not a good use of<br>
your time.<br>

So, what they're documenting is indeed what you're sending, and it's not a<br>
good approach, but it's the same one Google Apps uses, and isn't uncommon<br>
among the less functional SPs around.<br>
