Generally you only need or want Tomcat. You can use Apache in addition to Tomcat if you have a use case that makes it important to do so.

<div>IIS will not be necessary. The quick start should have generated certificates for you that will suffice for IdP-to-SP configuration. For web-facing stuff like user authentication, you will need a "commercial" certificate, but you can acquire that however
you want and configure that directly into Tomcat without touching Shibboleth.<br>

I've used the idP quick install .msi file, and I get the basic "Congratulations..." screen, but I'm wondering if I also need to install Apache for Windows in order to have a sucessful idP server or is Tomcat all I need?<br>
