We have been using idp 2.1.3 for some years and this morning I was upgrading it to 2.4.0 I ran the upgrade this morning as per instructions here: </font><a href="https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/IdP2Upgrade"><font color="#800080" face="Syntax LT">https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/IdP2Upgrade</font></a> </p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><font face="Syntax LT">Afterwards I tried to connect in via a previously working sp and instead of a login I got this error:</font></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: times new roman, serif; font-size: 12pt;">SAML response contained an error.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: times new roman, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Error from identity provider:</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><font face="Syntax LT">10:29:55.093 - ERROR [edu.internet2.middleware.shibboleth.idp.authn.AuthenticationEngine:525] - No user identified by login handler.</font></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><font face="Syntax LT">10:29:55.093 - ERROR [edu.internet2.middleware.shibboleth.idp.authn.AuthenticationEngine:481] - Authentication failed with the error:</font></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><font face="Syntax LT">edu.internet2.middleware.shibboleth.idp.authn.AuthenticationException: No user identified by login handler.</font></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><font face="Syntax LT">I have now tried to revert to idp2.1.3 but the same thing is happening. Any ideas as to what might have broken would be appreciated.</font></p>
