<p class="MsoNormal">I think I’ve probably requested this before, but a new feature that InCommon operations has recently introduced (a set of locally-referenced SAML schema files, linked here:

https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/InCCollaborate/Metadata+Consumption</a>) brought it back to the forefront. This bundle of schemas that reference each other locally instead of via URIs is nice to have for validation of Shibboleth config files. It might
be nice to distribute the relevant locally-referenced schemas with the IdP or on the Shibboleth documentation wiki and provide a tool in the distribution that people can use to validate their configs before rolling them to test or production systems.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">In any case, the schemas that InCommon is now providing are really nice- it should be possible to use them in Oxygen or another XML editor to validate config files now.<o:p></o:p></p>
