Hi,<div><br></div><div>I need to configuring the IdP for External Authentication System User Authentication, I tried to follow the instructions at <a href="https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/IdPAuthExternal">https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/IdPAuthExternal</a>, but have several questions.</div>

Since the <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: 13px; line-height: 16px; white-space: pre; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">externalAuthnPath can only be a url under the same web context, i.e. idp.war, does it mean that I have to modify the IDP source code to add a filter/servlet?</span></div>

My external auth process is in a different web app, it seems to me the only way to communicate from the custom filer/servlet to the external auth process is via web service.
