It would take multiple lines of code and copying objects around into a form they'd log cleanly vs. an automatic behavior we got for free.

That branch of code runs when somebody supplies a Subject (in whole) to that flow to consume. Anybody doing that, which is very rare, can log it all themselves and incur that cost if they want.
