It's filed as an issue, we have no spare resources to work on it any time soon, there are too many higher priorities.

The one you're already talking about is the implementation. It will never be implememted "inside" the IdP, SAML shouldn't even be inside the IdP at this point. It's an enhancement to the OP plugin.
