You can't define multiple rules for the same source name.

The Transform approach certainly works, but the alias option is the only direct way to do it.

Worrying about it being deprecated is not all that important considering the entire software product is deprecated in that form, it's not like just that is on the chopping block. It might have mattered if that code wasn't already going to be retired.

No idea, would have to be logged if there were a problem, could be it creates an empty one if there are no source values I guess. Not worth looking.
