Shibboleth SP 3.5.0 shibd_warn.log errors

Hi All,

We have our SP sitting on a web server VM in Azure behind an Azure Application Gateway.

There a errors regularly being reported in the shibd_warn log although they don't appear to be having any impact on our web applications.

The errors always occur in 3s are -

ERROR Shibboleth.Listener [1]: error reading size of input message
ERROR Shibboleth.Listener [1]: failed socket call (unknown), result (0): No error
ERROR Shibboleth.Listener [1]: I/O failure processing request on socket (628)

I presume the number after the Listener refers to the SessionCache, the failed socket call is always result(0): No error and I'm not sure what the number after socket refers to.

On the Application Gateway there is a Rewrite Rule to forward the Client IP in the X-Forward-For header -

Set request header 'X-Forwarded-For' = {var-client-ip}

Does anyone have any advice on why this error might be occurring and whether there are additional configuration requirement for either the Shibboleth2.xml or Application Gateway that should b implemented?
