Recommended Next steps...?

Hi,
Thanks for everyones' help with getting the IdP status.sh worked out!
As I mentioned previously, I have been following the documentation and am
at "Next steps" (
https://shibboleth.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IDP5/pages/3199500577/Installation#Typical-Next-Steps)...
and am trying to figure out what to do next...
Before I do that, I should describe what I *think* I am trying to do....
Basically, I am trying to construct a development/test environment for
federation, using Shibboleth...
Two of the things that I want to be able to test are to (a)
implement/prototype attribute sharing (XASP) using Shibboleth, and (b)
after that, similarly implement/prototype identity federation (again, using
Shibboleth).
I've been reading information on the above page(s) (the "next steps"),
mostly about the "(a)", and, there is a LOT ;), and frankly speaking, the
Shibboleth "infrastructure" (might be the wrong word) is quite extensive,
so I was hoping that someone here might help point me in the "right"
direction towards starting to implement the attribute federation
functionality.
Looking at the docs, I think that I need to stand up an LDAP (OpenLDAP)
server as the backend for the IdP/Attribute Authority/AA), and integrate
that backend with the IdP that i just recently stood up.
I think that I am also going to need to stand up a Service
Provider/Attribute Requester/AR) and setup the partnership between the
SP/AR and the IdP/AA?
Does the above make sense? If so, I'd appreciate any advice/comments about
accomplishing the above.
Thanks in advance!!
Jim
