Hi, Thank you very much for this nice suggestion. As my config files are generated by Ansible, I have added this extra validation step to compensate my faulty brain. Regards

Given it was a syntax error, not a semantic one, you could have also
caught it with xmllint:

# xmllint /opt/shibboleth-idp/conf/logback.xml
/opt/shibboleth-idp/conf/logback.xml:82: parser error : Opening and
ending tag mismatch: maxFileSize line 81 and rollingPolicy
