I don't see anything obviously wrong with switching something to a Simple attribute from Scoped. Data connectors generally always produce internal values as strings and from there is where they get the fancier value types generated.

My guess is you aren't running the config you think you are, but you'd have to check the logs, the resolver is very detailed about every step it follows, and so is the filter engine.

Change definition IDs if necessary to ensure you can find the relevant logging and if it doesn't show up then you know the config isn't what you think.
