Issues with IdP 5.0 upgrade

Hello everyone,

I recently attempted to upgrade our Shibboleth development environment from 4.3.2 to 5.1.1. The upgrade seemed to have no issues, with the exception of the SAML2NameID deprecation warning (https://shibboleth.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IDP5/pages/3199500925/Upgrading).

I started Tomcat after copying the new war file to the webapps folder and I am getting no errors in catalina.out and only this warning:

WARNING [main] org.apache.tomcat.util.descriptor.web.WebXml.setVersion Unknown version string [5.0]. Default version will be used.

However, all the IdP logs are empty and if I try to hit any of the known IdP URLs (e.g., idp/shibboleth) I get a 404 from Tomcat even though the IdP war file was expanded.

I am at a loss on what I could check next to continue troubleshooting. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any idea of what I could have done wrong?
