I do not have the precise plumbing of the various services swapped in right now, but I would suspect that this is your problem.  You
issue is coming during attribute resolution (which then feeds in to the NameId service) so the attribute resolver needs to know
about the data source.

I suggest that you move it to global.xml and see what happens.  If that works try moving it to attribute-resolver.xml
