I misunderstood, I thought both forms of Duo didn't work.

We would not have removed that code, but Duo does not support the codebase upon which the old integration relies, so they really left us no choice.

If the VPN isn't campus-wide, you might be able to consider other options for stronger authentication like WebAuthn I suppose.
