Yes, but it would be rare and usually unsafe for an SP to be relying on more than one remote metadata source that wasn't just an MDQ oracle. A campus with multiple IdPs *might* need to do a few, but having a single maintained metadata source for that is better since remote metadata has to be signed, needs to constantly expire, etc. to be safe to use anyway.
