Hello Team,

I am Subasana Bordoloi  from Software Asset Management (SAM) team of ExxonMobil. My group Software Asset Management is responsible for software licensing in our organization. The Software Asset Management group at ExxonMobil exists in large part to steward software license compliance.

  1.  Export controls prohibit or restrict the export or re-export of certain specific products, technologies and services from the United States to designated countries. As stated above ExxonMobil has its employees & contractors throughout the world who according to the business needs get transferred from one country to other as well. Hence, in order to attend this request RITM3154880  we need to obtain the Export Control Classification Number (ECCN (i))  for Product - Shibboleth Service Provider
  2.  , publisher -, version- 2023.1.1 before the software can be deployed in ExxonMobil.

     *   If you do not have your software classified with an ECCN, please kindly answer the following questions so that we may self-assess if there may be any prohibition or restriction for export or re-export of this product.

Background information:

(i) What is ECCN?
Export controls prohibit or restrict the export or re-export of certain specific products, technologies and services from the United States to designated countries. We are inquiring if there is an export control classification number (ECCN) for the mentioned software. An Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) is a specific alpha-numeric code that identifies the level of export control for items e.g. software that are exported from member states of the Wassenaar Arrangement, including the United States. After obtaining the ECCN, the exporter must determine whether an export license is required to export items to certain countries.
(ii) What is meant by Exxon Mobil Corporation, its affiliates?
We'd like to confirm that the above mentioned product can be used worldwide by employees and contractors from ExxonMobil Corporation and its Affiliates. "Affiliate" means (i) Exxon Mobil Corporation or any parent of Exxon Mobil Corporation; (ii) any company or partnership in which Exxon Mobil Corporation or any parent of Exxon Mobil Corporation (a) owns or (b) controls, directly or indirectly, more than fifty percent (50%) of the ownership interest having the right to vote or appoint its directors or their functional equivalents ("Affiliated Company"); (iii) any joint venture in which Exxon Mobil Corporation, any parent of Exxon Mobil Corporation, or an Affiliated Company has participation".
(iii) What are Contractors (or Consultants)?
ExxonMobil would like the right to allow our contractors (or consultants) to use our licenses for the above mentioned product.  The software would be installed on ExxonMobil equipment and would be used for the benefit of Licensee of the purchase. Our contractors (or consultants) are covered by an existing confidentiality agreement and are required to hold any software products in confidence.
