I have never seen any evidence that any of the options but the recovery cookie added recently are viable.

More to the point, if you solved the problem for your application, then the answer is to get the SP out of the way (or offer whatever code you made work since nothing I have does), and if you haven't solved the problem for your application...I haven't either.
