There won't be a fix for this until the redesign. The cleanup happens during response handling and I couldn't make it work the other way due to issues that I really can't even recall at this point. I tried. Probably API limitations I wasn't prepared to fix.

That was not my impression of how it worked, but if so that was unintentional and I'll have to watch for it when it's redone and figure out a fix. I probably assumed the new ones went at the end. I don't know if it's even specified behavior.
