While that satisfies the IDP's (as LDAP client) 3000ms client-side
timeout I'd also note that for an LDAP DSA to take 3 seconds for a
response is rather sad, IMO.
FWIW, when I did some load testing on our LDAP servers in an earlier
life -- over a decade ago, including ordinary hardware that was
available back then -- we could handle an average of 11k requests per
second just fine (multiple clients, no warm-up or cache priming
first).
The IDP itself won't be needing that ;) but maybe there's room for
improvement in your current LDAP deployment. That's all I'm saying.
