I couldn't see it installing a thread to do it, but the base class can so I imagine I just didn't see it. The main point is that it's not relevant other than for storage, it doesn't actually return any expired records when queried. It's undoubtedly an option too, so it would be possible to configure the bean to not delete them if desired.
