CAS gateway mode

We recently migrated our CAS implementation to Shibboleth but very few of CAS clients implemented the CAS gateway mode.   This seems to be in CAS 2.0 protocol specification but Shibboleth implementation of CAS does not support this. Would this feature be added later?
