Sounds like it, and would certainly explain why it's not being reported. You might be able to set something up as a workaround for now, like proxying it through another web server rather than with curl. Arguably you could potentially even do this with the actual web server you're running, though it's a bit circular and would have some timing issues.

The 3.3 release is due fairly soon and will definitely have a newer version.
