xmlsectool and prolog

I've found several non-federated applications (I don't recall which ones though) which require metadata to be uploaded manually will fail to upload or configure properly if the metadata contains an XML prolog. I've not seen such a problem if the prolog is not there. For non-federated applications we provide a link to signed metadata extracted from the InCommon repository and we run xmlsectool on that to create the file. For now, I just made a note for application technicians that the prolog may need to be removed manually from the file before uploading.

Hello, is there an option to prevent xmlsectool from adding a prolog to the file it generates?

No, there's no such option.

Can you give us an idea of your use case so that we can see what you would gain by omitting it?
